SOUTH ORANGE, N.J.– The Seton Hall Student Activities Board (SAB) hosted its first virtual Open Mic Night last Wednesday evening in an effort to keep students engaged now that the university has gone completely online.
With over 3,000 followers on Instagram, @shu_sab was able to provide entertainment for a large number of students on the app’s live feature during this event. It was hosted by the Student Activities Board’s multimedia chair DJ Farelly, and entertainment was provided by eight of the event’s regular on-campus performers.
SAB is planning to make this virtual event a weekly occurrence, with the next one taking place tomorrow at 8 p.m. on Instagram Live. SAB has also hosted Trivia Night, a virtual magic show, and a Netflix March Madness contest.
A representative from SAB stated, “we just want to provide some kind of consistency and entertainment for students during this difficult time, and hopefully, continuing one of our most popular events online will do just that.”
About upcoming events:
- The next Trivia Night will be tonight at 8 p.m. on Teams and will be Spongebob themed
